I have always been a fan of David Orleilly’s animations so when I watched this, I got pretty excited – its the cat from the animation Please Say Something!
The iHologram iPhone application works by assuming that a viewing angle will be between 35-45 degrees, which is more or less the viewing angle when the phone is placed on a tabletop. The 3d scene’s perspective is then warped using anamorphic perspective, making the object appear as if it was a hologram – brilliant! More info can be found at davidoreilly.com
