digieffects atmosphere
Digieffects atmosphere plugin for adobe after effects allows you to create atmospheric effects such as haze and fog directly in after effects. The plugin is priced inexpensively at $49.00 and provides a quick and simple way to realistically simulate atmospheric conditions such as haze and fog in your composition. Looking at the plugin, I thought immediately that a great use would be to generate depth maps and depth mattes right in after effects from ae 3d scenes – kind of useful. This was a old trick we used in 3D when applications didn’t have the ability to do dof, just set the scene objects with white textures and add black fog then do a render. The resulting output could be brought into ae or photoshop and used to do a blur or control any other filter or effect. …I will have to get the plugin and try all that out.
