Quick screengrab of my Maya’s automatic Sticky Lips rigging script, version 1.
The script was part of my studies and it scratches some concepts of Topology Navigation to identify where to create the deformations. Works on any polygon mesh with unfolded UVs and it’s not dependant on a specific edge count or mesh ‘world-space’ symmetry.
Based on the Institute of Animation tutorials by Volker Helzle. Google it for more details.

Just to make some corrections, actually the script is made entirely in Python, no MEL here… and it’s not available for download as it is something I use at work.
