Grant McCune Design recently took on the task of restoring the original Nostromo ship from the movie Alien commissioned by the Prop Store of London. The original model, which is much bigger than i expected, apparently sat out in the elements including rain for about 20 years, and for some of those years, the ship was a home to a dead possum as they had found a complete skeleton inside. This is such a cool project to see, and Grant McCune Design posted a four part video showing the progression of the stages of restoration. i am in awe of the craftsmanship, and also never realized that this model was wood underneath, although knowing now, it makes total sense.
