Subdivision Reversion is the first and only Maya plugin that will recreate the subdivision levels of an already subdivided mesh with 100% precision maintaining existing UVs. Subdivision Reversion works with the 2008/2009/2010/2011/2012 (32 & 64 Bit) Windows version of Maya and OS X and Linux are NOT currently supported.
