I am not really sure why someone hasn’t done this until now, but now this makes so much sense. Fabian Morón Zirfas has put a small user interface to the standard After Effects Wiggle expression, in a little offering he comically calls the “wihihihiggle script“. Get the Wihihihiggle script for After Effects here.

…Aren’t you tired of writing wiggle again and again and again?

Do you always use wiggle() with a basic setting like wiggle(0.5,23)?

Did you ever wonder what the extended version wiggle(freq, amp, octaves = 1, amp_mult = .5, t = time) does?…

Fabian notes that if you ever had to type and retype the wiggle expression in After Effects, which, you probably have, then this little script is a great time saver, plus a helpful reminder as to what the extended, not often used wiggle attributes do. The script will remember default standard values for faster access, which is a fantastic feature.

The script is mostly an interface for the Wiggle expression, but there are some extra things in there such as posterize time, seed random, and looping (the looping expression provided by the great Dan Ebberts). One of the extras that go beyond the simple wiggle expression is the ability to create a Null Controller object and sliders and applies the expression to your selected properties.

  1. Hi Lester,

thanx for the props. Only thing is there has been a script around for a while by Paul Tursley called autoexpress I didn’t know either. If I had maybe I would never have written it.
    Cheers

    • That may be so, but that is not nearly as cool a name 🙂
