Ryan Boyle provides an introduction to using Newton 2 and runs down some of the new features that are included.

This is an introduction to the new features of Newton 2, We’re going to work through a few scenarios to see how to set up and execute a simulation

Newton is a plugin for After Effects that will allow you to create 2D layer based physical simulations right in After Effects.

MotionBoutique’s Newton is based on the Box2D Physics Engine, and interprets 2D layers as a rigid object by means of vector masks in After Effects, once the scene is simulated, Newton bakes the animation into keyframes for After Effects.

Ryan goes over creating and simulating animation in Newton, but also takes a look at some of the latest features of Newton 2. Check out the tutorial for the Introduction to the New Features in Newton 2 here.
