Erwin Santacruz provides a short demonstration using his new ToeJam mac application that will force After Effects to save a file and terminate, based on the terminal command that was recently demonstrated by Joe Lilli, How to Force Quit a Frozen After Effects and Save Data.

ToeJam is a simple Mac utility application for Adobe After Effects that runs as a status bar item. When executed, it terminates After Effects® in order to force an autosave of your current working project

Essentially ToeJam deos the same thing as the terminal command, and really simplifies the process, where all you have to do is launch ToeJam and that is pretty much it…This can be a real life saver. After Effects doesn’t crash on me too often, I like to run lean and I take precautions, however, out of the blue last week… I got the spinning wheel while doing nothing really, and this would have really come in handy.
