BlenderGuru Andrew Price lives up to his name with a new and pretty spectacular render and tutorial show its creation. Andrew takes a look at creating and rendering food, and in particular creating realistic and believable bread.

Food is one of those difficult topics that a lot of 3d artists avoid due to it’s difficulty. Pixar even said that one of the hardest parts of Ratatouille was to make the food actually look appetizing

Andrew covers how to model the loaf of bread, and shows how to texture it for a realistic look using both displacements and normal maps, and using the new subsurface scatter feature in Blender to render out a realistic result. Check out the tutorial for How to Create Realistic Bread in Blender here.
