Previously in a look at creating and rigging stretchy IK chains in Maya, Luiz Philippe Moreira demonstrated a process using Maya’s Utility Nodes and Expressions to build a joint chain which can be driven by an IK solver using some code generating utility nodes.

Expanding on that premise, Luiz posts a look at how you can enhance your Stretchy IK in Maya with some extra functionality that can add some features to the system making it more robust.

going over extra functionality that you could add to that kind of setup to make it more robust

Luiz set up a Pole Vector Stretch in an existing IK setup in Maya as one of the features, as well as global scaling supporting uniform scaling of your rig, adding an auto stretch toggle for limbs, as well as some great tips along the way.
