The Motion Boutique, creators of the Newton Physics Engine for After Effects, posts another freely available script in Paravent, which allows you to create a “folding screen” effect in After Effects providing some easy automation and controls.
This free script creates a controllable folding screen animation from the selected project item
Paravent is quite simple to use, just select a project item which can be a piece of footage, a precomp or solid, and specify the attributes of the fold and then hit create. Paravent builds a new comp with the folding screen animation for you.
Paravent’s UI panel will allow you to choose the direction of the fold and the number of panels you want to fold up. You are also able to control the decay and decay order to fine tune the folding animation.
