Maya | MASH Procedural Animation Toolkit Updates With Three New Utilities

MASH-for-Maya-Procedural-Animation

Mainframe releases a new point update for MASH, Maya’s procedural animation toolkit bringing it to MASH 2.2.2 which features three new utilities while also streamlining the utilities menu area.

MASH was initially developed as an in-house tool for Mainframe North, and grew into a complete product designed to extend Maya’s motion graphics capabilities by adding procedualr methods for creating animation, not dissimilar to some of the times found in Cinema 4D’s MoGraph module.

This release brings three new utilities, including one for baking out your MASH networks

MASH 2.2.2 contains three new utilities with the Bake Instancer script which will convert instances into objects, a Connect nParticle to MASH Script, and a new MASH helper which is a new dock able control alloying you to select MASH nodes in your scene quickly.

The 2.2.2 update also includes a new fBM Noise type, a Fractal Brownian Motion, which is sometimes described as Turbulent Noise noise. The MASH deformer has been re-wrtien to include two modes with a Vertex and Face Mode instantly checking if you selected the transform rather than the shape and alter your selection accordingly.

MASH now has a a Hold Values Mode on the Offset node allowing you to adjust a ‘Hold Strength’ slider to slow down and pause any of the channels – so if you fade this slider up and down, your objects will naturally catch up to where they should be.

Of course Mainframe have made a few other minor improvements and bug fixes, for more information on MASH’s changes, check the post here: MASH updated to 2.2.2
