Quickly creating the elections you want and need while modeling can really affect your workflow. There are plenty of ways to create loop selections, the methods tend to break down when you want to create more complex selections, such as ever second or third polygon, as a loop.
To that end, Leon Weickert posts another great plugin for Cinema 4D in Devert Advanced Loop Selection. Using the new plugin you can easily create (as the name suggests) advanced loop and ring selections on objects in C4D by using hotkeys instead of tediously clicking with the mouse.

The plugin makes extensive use of key commands to quickly make loop selections in polygon models. The great thing is that it is really simple and super easy to make complicated loop selections. This includes the ability to build nth loop selections.
With the Devert Advanced Loop Selection Plugin, you can easily select every 1st, 2nd, 3rd – up to 100th polygon with stroke of the keyboard. It will also allow you to create stepwise selections as well as complete loops – all with hotkeys.

Other Devert Tools
There was a previously posted a look at Leon’s Devert MaterialOverwrite Plugin, which will allow you to add or remover an override material tag easily and quickly in Cinema 4D. You can then set the override material as the last tag. This lets you to set all materials in the scene with a simple drag and drop.
