You can easily Quicklook any text file in OS X, including application specific files such as word or pages documents. Until you try to Quicklook MEL files only to receive a maya file icon staring back at you.
Maya MEL files are essentially text files, but the finder can’t display any of their contents through OS X’s Quicklook feature. Wouldn’t it be great to be able to quickly see which scripts do what without having to open them? Now you can thanks to MASH developer Ian Waters.
Ian created a simple little OS X extension that when installed, will allow you to Quicklook MEL files. All you need to do is install it into ~/Library/Quicklook and restart. Easy!
