Using Hdr Skies With Octane Render

octane HDR skies

TomGlimps has a look at using Peter Guthrie’s HDR Skies within the Octane render engine.

The tutorial covers using the stand-alone version of Octane, but the principles can be applied to any version including 3ds Max, Blender, LightWave C4D, Maya, etc. The functionality of Octane render doesn’t change, just the interface in the host application.

Check out the tutorial for Using HDR Skies With Octane Render here.

Octane is an unbiased physically based render running on the GPU. Recently OTOY announced that Octane will be making its way to a whole bunch of applications including plugins for Photoshop, After Effects, the Foundry’s NUKE, Side Effects Software’s Houdini, MotionBuilder, and Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4.
