VFX artist and aspiring director Alf Lovvold posts a great introduction into using BMD Fusion. Shortly after its purchase from Eyeon, BlackMagic Design announced that there would be a free version of Fusion 7.
The Free version has all the features that the paid version has, other than limiting rendering to single machine (no network rendering) and a size limit of UHD, and some higher end tools such as stereoscopic effects and workflows are also missing from the toolset.
Black Magid Design has also hinted that Fusion will be making it’s way to OS X, something that will definitely increase Fusion’s interest to VFX Artists.
