MARUI Lets You Work in Maya Using the Oculus Rift

With the Oculus Rift being such an affordable SDK, it’s no wonder that we don’t start seeing more digital content creation applications integrations with VR. We first had a look at the mOculus.io Plugin for Maya a short three months ago. Recently a new plugin for Maya has emerged that will also allow you to turn Autodesk Maya into a VR playground.

Switch away from your 2D screen and start working in a 3D virtual reality environment.

MARUI, offers a seamless Oculus Rift plugin for Maya, allowing you to start working in a virtual 3D environment. The goal for MARUI is to make 3D modeling as natural as working with clay, right within Maya.

MARUI is in alpha stages right now and under development, but you can download and use MARUI to try it out for yourself, if you have an Oculus Rift and Maya lying around.
