GifGun Will Bring Back Animated Gif Export to After Effects

Good news, you will soon be able to create animated GIFs in Ae once more, thanks to GifGun.

For reasons likely only known to a few, After Effects lost the ability to export animations as animated GIFs —Just in time for the format’s revival thanks to things like Dribble and Tumbr.

People have making do, finding their GIF satisfaction with Photoshop and some online tools that will allow you to create GIFs from animations.

Soon, however, you will be able to create animated GIFs from After Effects once more, thanks to the folks over at ToonGoose Animation.

They plan to release GifGun soon, a one-click solution for creating animated GIFs in Ae. They are just finishing up the Windows version for the AE tool, and hope for a release really soon. GifGun will work with After Effects CS6 and up, on both Mac and Windows platforms.

The GIF tool for Ae offers a really simple panel, that looks out of the way, and really simple to use.
