A Corona Render Walkthrough in Cinema 4D

Render Legion’s Corona Render has been a longstanding render engine for 3ds Max. It features a simple production based work flow, and super high quality images.

A couple of years ago, new integration for Corona render came to Cinema 4D, and is still in Alpha. Still, the renderer seems to be coming along quite well, with tight C4D integration.

I know that the plug-in render engine segment for 3D applications seems like it might be hitting peak. Corona is a contender, nonetheless.

Here, C4D artist Shawn Astrom, walks through the latest Alpha build of Corona. If you have interest in other renderers, you might want to take a look at the video. Shawn shows off rendering with Corona Render in C4D with some examples. Shawn also notes that Corona is easy to use, beautiful, and will have a great price point when complete. You can download Corona Render for C4D alpha, free to use, even for commercial projects. This build supports Cinema 4D R14 to 17 and will expire after the commercial version sees a release.

The latest commercial version of Corona added a new feature for adjusting light color and intensity during or after render. LightMix can allow for subtle adjustments through to dramatic changes without re-rendering.
