How to Up-Res X-Particles With Krakatoa C4D

Bob Walmsley shows how you can use Krakatoa C4D to effectively up-res particle simulations for a better looking render.

This is the second part of Bob’s “creating wispy smoke” tutorial. That tutorial covered creating the smoke simulation with Turbulence FD / X-Particles in C4D. While the smoke simulation was great looking in the viewport, you really need to fill it out more to get a realistic looking render. This is where Krakatoa comes in.

The simulation starts out with with around 100,000 particles. Thanks to Krakatoa C4D, that will increase to 30,000,000.

The tutorial covers the basics for using Krakatoa, which can look overwhelmingly complex at first, but can be simple to use. This is die to the fact that Krakatoa C4D is fully integrated in the CINEMA 4D User Interface.
