C4D Py-ParametricTools, a Simple Approach to Parametric modeling

Maxon Labs was developed to be an outlet for tools and ideas in the hopes to foster new development directions in new releases of Cinema 4D. Since the launch, we have seen a number of tools posted, from a nested extrusion tool, to team render additions, to a coons mesh generator. The latest tool posted is C4D Py-ParametricTools, which is meant as a simple approach to parametric modeling.

Py-ParametricTools consists of paired generator and modifier objects for a number of commonly used modeling tools. There are generators and modifiers for Extrude, Extrude Inner, Normal Move, Normal Scale, Normal Rotate, Reverse Normals and Smooth Shift.

In truth, the tools are nothing too fancy, still Maxon believed that Py-ParametricTools could helpful for certain C4D users.

C4D Py-ParametricTools is Python-based, and can definitely serve as an example for how easily Python can be to create a parametric workflow using existing tools. It is also a good example of how you can re-use existing description resources.

You can download C4D Py-ParametricTools over at Maxon Labs, made for Cinema 4D R16 and higher.
