In order to work efficiently, you need to know how to get around the scene that you are working on. Each application has their own way to move around, and each will have their own system for quickly navigating the viewport so you can reference places quickly. Most of the ideas and viewport commands seem to have standardized between 3D applications. The keystrokes may differ, but they all are likely to have the same features.
