New mGear Rigging Framework Updates for Maya2018

Miquel Campos Updates mGear Rigging Framework with new tools, and improvements, including compatibility with Maya 2018.

mGear offers a rigging framework for Maya that includes a set of modules, tools and custom C++ solvers that were designed to streamline the character rigging process. Initially written for Softimage, mGear made its way over to Maya, and went Open Source.

It has been fairly quite since then, but recently rigging framework has updated with new support for Maya 2018.

The latest version of mGear has included a new simple auto rig rigging system that can be used for basic props. There is also a new character wrangler, a channel manager that has the ability to export and import designated channels.

The latest rigging framework has also seen a flurry of improvements in version 2.2.
