Check out Tactilis, a FREE drawing app for iPad that sports a unique approach to drawing with an interface that harkens back to an older time. Create Digital Motion has a great post on Tactilis, comparing it to Ivan Sutherland’s Sketchpad, introduced, in 1963.

Tactilis is an iPad App for drawing and hand-written notes. It lets you draw smaller drawing details as well as smaller print just as with real pencil and paper. It also lets you draw precise straight lines and circles using hand gestures similar to real life ruler and compass.

“Tactilis lets you use iPad for drawing in the same way you would use pencil and paper. It lets you work on smaller details without loosing the big picture. It also lets you write smaller handwriting without zooming in the entire page. Drawing precise straight lines and circles is done in ways similar to using real life ruler and compass. Tactilis is a perfect app for quick hand-written notes, diagrams, figures, hand-drawn maps or just doodling.”

is there an ipad app that would be good for a jewelry designer to ‘draw’ or ‘scultp’? i keep coming up with iRing3D and Cell Cycle. Is there anything else?
