Andrew Devis shows the intricacies of using the new mask feather feature in After Effects CS6.

One of the things I have noticed about the Mask Feather Tool in After Effects CS6 is that you are able to add feather points wherever you want, you are not limited to feathering from an already existing anchor point in the spline. However it is because of this, that there is inherently an extra step/click when using mask feathering compared to other compositors you may be used to or even Mocha Pro.
