The popular plugin for Softimage has been brought over to Autodesk Maya. Eric Mootz has been bringing some of his plugins originally created for Softimage exclusively over to other applications such as Modo, and now we see his first offering for Autodesk Maya, bringing emPolygonizer4 to Maya’s environment.

Short walk through the first Mootzoid plugin for Maya

emPolygonizer4 will allow you to dynamically create a mesh from a particle cloud or selected object in Maya / Softimage or in simpler and more common terms, create MetaBalls.

If you are unfamiliar with Eric Mootz’s work, he has created some amazing tools in emFlock, emFluid, emNewton and his own particle point cloud renderer emRPC. Some of Eric’s tools were built and used in the stunning Nissan Sentra “wouldn’t it be cool” spot, which can be seen below.

the emPolygonizer4 (v.4.250) is compatible with Maya 2012-2014 and Softimage 2012-2014. There are demo scenes available for emPolygonizer4, and a license will run you 199 Euros per seat.
