Creating a Disintegrating 3D Building Scene With Compositing In After Effects

Musat Adrian Bogdan takes a look at creating a scene that integrates a building being destroyed in real life footage showing creating the building in 3ds Max and taking the renders into After Effects for compositing.

We will start with the creation of the 3d tracked environment with The Foundry’s Camera Tracker, adjust & correct the imported footage from 3DS Max, add some light/flares and wrap up with final touches

Musat Adrian Bogdan creates a 3D representation of the building using 3ds Max and Thinking Particles to create the disintegration effect as well as The Foundry’s Camera Tracker within After Effects to create tracking data for the shot.
