The FBM and multiFBM Procedural nodes have added a few minor additions, and a new Vector FBM and will soon be released as the FBM Pack for Mari. FBM stand for Fractal Brownian Motion which is a generalization of Brownian Motion as a continuos Gaussian process. The BM and multiFBM procedural nodes for Mari can be useful for weathering, masking and terrain

Updates for FBM & multiFBM and the new Vector FBM

Mari essentially already has an FBM type node in its Procedural Fractal Cloud, but as Jens Kafitz notes, the problem is that the Fractal Cloud in Mari are simplified controls compared to what you might be used to from RenderMan or other applications.

Jen Kafitz walks through the new features of the Mari FBM Pack 1.1, which is only available for Mari 2.5. There are a few new options available including amplitude, frequency offset, baseline, absolute values and a few others. The newsiest addition is the Vector FBM, adding a scale value that provides some different results.
