RenderStream, makers of high performance 3D workstations and Render Servers, have recently introduced Artie, a turnkey solution for small to mid-sized production facilities and studios. Artie is a 6U enclosure with a single PCoIP workstation, 2X RenderStream Ridiculous Speed 4 render farm and a switch shown here. 4U, 6U, 12U and 24U enclosures available depending on needs. Find out more about Artie.

I was not able to find pricing for the unit in configurations, I do believe it is meant to compete with Boxx’s 1980’s looking RenderPro Series. Of course I would be more than happy to review a few -if of course RenderStream were so nice to throw a few my way… As luck would have it, I have some heavy stuff to run through a couple and really test!

“RenderStream is pleased to announce Artie, a highly scalable and secure turnkey solution targeted for small to mid-size production houses. Modeled after Omnia, Artie is designed to easily scale up as your business grows. Everything you need to succeed is housed in a small easy to manage, highly secure rack. In the simplest configuration , Artie can be configured with a single rack mounded workstation and RenderStream’s Ridiculous Speed render farm. In the most advanced configuration, Artie can come complete with PCoIP workstations, PCoIP compositing workstations, a RenderStream renderfarm, Qube! Supervisor Server, switches and UPS.

All of the Artie’s components easily stack in a small enclosure thus reducing unnecessary hardware clutter in your office. And like Artie’s big brother Omnia, Artie can be shipped to your facility fully wired with your desired software pre installed allowing you to get up and running in no time.”
