The Foundy has posted a brief “White Paper” on KATANA, their new lighting and look development package originally aquired from Sony Pictures Imageworks.
KATANA is a 3D application specifically designed for the needs of look development and lighting in an asset based pipeline.
It has been in development since 2004 at Sony Pictures Imageworks and has been their core tool for look development and lighting for all their productions since ‘SpiderMan 3’, ‘Beouwulf’ and ‘Surfs Up!’.
