Texture Path Genie for Maya from Lucas Morgan is a little maya utility script that will allow you to relocate all of your texture source files all at once, in a one-click-process, rather than individually.

Do you hate re pathing textures by hand? Hate missing one or two and costing yourself an entire re render even more?

More than likely, it has happened to all of us at one point or another and it can be difficult to keep track of source material issues resulting from broken paths. Texture Path Genie will automatically search and scan specified folders or drives for textures that are in your Maya scene file. Once they are found, they are automatically re-linked from the working locations.

The process could not be easier, just choose a root folder, and click the “fix texture paths” button, and that is pretty much it. Within the Texture path Genie interface, you are able to see at a glance the contents of your scene file and will display in green paths that work, or ones that don’t in red.

Lucas plans to keep this version free, and also provide a monetized “pro” version that will incorporate the ability to resource multiple file types such as referenced files, cache files, proxies, mental ray’s final gather and global illumination cache and baked files automatically in addition to some other features.
