A new addition to David Tornos After Effects ExtendScript Training gets posted, which takes a look at extracting or altering an assortment of information from After Effects and processing that information.

This week we are gonna focus on how to process text strings

David notes that previous lessons covered retrieving data in various forms, grabbing info about the After Effects project, layer names, file paths, and the values from AE’s properties.

Here, David jumps it to the next level by showing how you are able to do something with that information, process it, and change something from it. As an example, taking an After Effects project file extension from its name, then separating text strings into words, and then replacing a specified letter.
