Working With the Merge Node in Nuke

By July 28, 2014No Comments

Joe Raasch instructs at the Sececa VFX and has posted some great Nuke tutorials in the past. Recently, Joe posts a look at everything you ever wanted to know about the Nuke Merge node, but were afraid to ask.

As Joe mentions in the tutorial, new users can be a bit intimidated by the Merge node in Nuke as there are quite a few options listed that can seem a bit cryptic. Joe walks through the menus, trying to place the different commands in context for compositors.

The thing to keep in mind is that Nuke contains a robust channel manipulation toolset, and the Merge node can take full advantage of this. While this gives Nuke a lot of power, it can also be confusing to someone who is new to Nuke.
