Rigging Facial Expressions in Blender

By August 31, 2015No Comments

Daniel Kreuter posts a simple walkthrough, showing how to create animated facial expressions in Blender for a character. Using his Anime-style character, Daniel shows how to use Shape Keys and drivers to create a rig for some basic facial expressions in Blender.

Blender shape keys are an easy way to morph between shapes and poses, which makes it a great tool for creating facial animation. Blender’s drivers are used to make controls in the scene that can be manipulated, which in turn will drive the shape keys. This is a good introduction if you are new to rigging facial expressions in Blender, offering a great base to work from.
