This new tutorial from Motion Designer and 3D Artist Armin Lotfi shows how you can create furry little renders in Houdini using the grooming workflow. The tutorial covers using the Houdini shelf tools and shows how to set up density and length attributes and render the scene.

A little while ago, another Houdini tutorial from Arvid Schneider showed how to groom and render hair using Renderman’s new Lama Hair Shader. Pixar’s Lama Hair Chiang material makes hair shading more predictable and controllable using Lama layering developed on MaterialX.
