bringing 3D as a standard to browsers? X3DOM

Just imagine 3D running natively in web browsers using its own markup… that would be pretty cool… although merely a discussion in the W3C communities. X3DOM (pronounced X-Freedom) is an experimental open source runtime to support the ongoing discussion as to how an integration of HTML5 and declarative 3D content might look.
