after effects tutorial 3d floating titles, fringe-style

By June 11, 2010No Comments

Laurence Grayson with this two-part walkthrough shows how to use PFHoe 2.2 to track camera position from a video clip, correct lens distortion and export an After Effects-compatible scene file to create floating 3D titles like the ones in Fringe (and Panic Room).

Lawrence notes that PFHoe is not included with CS5 and also that Mocha for After Effects tracks planes in 3D space – it cannot be used to replicate camera movement in 3D space.
