Both Mocha Pro and Mocha for Ae are not islands. They are made to integrate into existing pipelines giving you the tools you need for back and forth with other applications. As an example, you can easily import or render out mattes in Mocha pro and Mocha Ae.

This can make it easy to export your work from Mocha into other applications such as compositors or NLe systems. Here, Mary Poplin of Imagineer Systems has a look at how to both import and export mattes in Mocha. Mary makes note that all versions of mocha can import externally created masks, keys or alpha channels as “black & white” mattes. Just as all versions of mocha can export mask data to a variety of formats, while mocha Pro is required to “render” external matte files.
