Using V-Ray Maya for Creating Non-Standard Render Passes

If you are rendering out some render passes in V-Ray Maya that will be used in Nuke for relighting, you might be missing out on some “hidden” render passes that can be useful.

The MaxDepth blog’s Timothy Hanson shows how you can create some non-standard passes, that is to say, render passes that are not readily set in V-Ray Maya, and shows how to use them in Nuke for the composition relighting pipeline. These passes will incude World XYZ, World Space Normals, Normals Object XYZ, Object XYZ, and a Fresnel pass.
