In a surprise move, The Foundry has acquired Sony Pictures Imageworks’ Katana, its primary internal 3d lighting and compositing package and its technologies for upcoming versions of Nuke. Fxguide sat with Rob Bredow CTO of SPI (Sony Pictures Imageworks), and Bill Collis who is the managing director of The Foundry as well as its chief scientist Simon Robinson to talk more about how this move will affect the industry.
