sky replacement with after effects

By September 10, 2010No Comments

Kert Gartner is back with an after effects tutorial on sky replacement including tracking and keying out the original sky then adding the new sky in the shot and adding the reflections of the new sky in the water. Kert also covers a great technique for removing and blurring edges of a keyed element using find edges in after effects to create a matte to control which parts of the image to correct.

In this tutorial, we look at how to do a complex sky replacement with Adobe After Effects CS5. We take a look at a variety of tools, including Tracking, Displacement maps, exposure, Refine Matte, Edge Blur, Colour Correction with Curves, and applying a vignette.
