Atangeo Balancer, an extremely effective and efficient polygon reduction tool has released a Mac OS X version as a Beta release. Balancer is available as a free lite version, (which is fully functional but works with mesh limits for a single mesh of 15000 triangles and 10000 vertices), and a full version, also available as a demo to be found here.
Atangeo Balancer, a popular tool to optimize and simplify 3D models, is now available for Mac OS X as a Beta release. The Mac version is identical to the Windows one in terms of look and feel, and all the functionality. The latest update of Atangeo Balancer for Windows includes a cool feature to lock individual vertices to fine tune simplification results, and some nice enhancements like UV mapping foldover prevention and mouse navigation customization to match your favorite authoring application. Atangeo Balancer technology is now also available as an SDK, which is 32bit and 64bit binary libraries for both Windows and Mac OS X.
