Amber Steele returns with a demonstration of how to use a a layer shader node in Maya combined with a surface shader to successfully connect multiple mia_material shaders together. Good stuff!

Very useful, thanks! And I’m so glad I found a tutorial by a woman finally! I was starting to wonder if there was anyone out there. 🙂

Cool voice & really well explained tutorial!! I only would point that, linking from a Mia_material to a Surface Shader can’t be done as explained in this video. That’s because Mia_material doesn’t have ‘result’ output. Mia_material_x should be used instead.

Thanks for a great share and very well explained about how to use Mia_material or Mia_material_x in layered shader. Once again thanks a lot.
