Developer Oleg Bliznuk takes a look at using Exocortex Implosia in Softimage for creating fractures, Booleans and previews some of the new features that are soon to be released in version 2.0. Oleg notes that the update will include a more convenient way to fracture objects through operators, and will also sport new topology attributes such as UVs, Normals, Materials without the need for caching or freezing.

Oleg shows the Quick fracturing by means of boolean operators, a look at the Fracture Mask set up in ICE, and provides a simple wood splinter example using both Continuous and Voronoi.
