Marco Giordano shares his latest endeavor into interesting and fun API exercises, offers up a Maya Plugin for a Rivet Node. Called MG_rivetNode, it provides the simplification over using Maya Follicles for the effect of a Maya rivet constraint on a surface.
there is a check box on the node called recompute , when you switch it on the binding point on the mesh get calculated every time
the MG_rivetNode has a “recompute point” feature which will continuously calculate the binding point on the mesh, so, for example, if you move transform attached to the inputPoint that is used to calculate the point on the mesh, you will get the effect of a constraint on surface which can be animated as shown in Marco’s Example below.
