In this Cinema 4D and After Effects tutorial for beginners I’ll show you a couple very quick tips for dealing with cameras. Hopefully these will point you in the right direction if you’re just starting out with animation

Typically, a good rule of thumb for 3D would be a) if it needs to have animation, create a control for it, and b) create hierarchal controls to separate different types of animation if possible. As an example have a seperate control for rotation than you would for transformations or positional changes.
