Creating Mudbox Vector Displacement Maps for Softimage

By December 24, 2012No Comments

Manny Papamanos demonstrates how to create maps in Autodesk MudBox for use in Softimage with this quick and short look at creating vector displacement maps for Softimage in Mudbox.

Apply the VDM image to a “vector displacement Map” node in the render tree, then apply that to the displacement port of the material node

Manny notes that Once the .obj and VDM are created in Mudbox you can import the low level .obj into Softimage
and apply the VDM image to a “vector displacement Map” node in the render tree, then apply that to the displacement port of the material node.
