Creating Continuous Beach Waves With Houdini Fluids

By August 27, 2013March 31st, 2014No Comments

Offering a look into how he created beach waves in Houdini, Carlos Parmentier demonstrates how you are able to create continuos waves within a Houdini Fluid Container.

After several people asked me how i made the waves in beachwaves, i decided to make this basic tutorial for those who need to learn how to create waves in fluid water

Carlos obtained some great results with SOP force waves, foam, mist, and splashes, using a wet, velocity and fog shader in his tests, and notes that the same technique is possible without using an animated wave model.
