Peter Hunt shares a script for Maya that will allow you to playback an animation in a Maya viewport from Multiple Cameras, providing not only the opportunity to compose shots, but also give a nice overview of the entire animation from the perspective of connecting shots.

View the whole animation through multiple cameras from within maya

The Playback multiple cameras script will read information from camera names, and then play out the frames before switching to the next camera in line. Peter notes that the script works on the selected cameras and uses the time slider, so something has to be selected with the frames are within Maya’s set playback range.
