Creating a Freeze Frame Effect in After Effects and Mocha

By October 25, 2013No Comments

Dan Jacobs takes a look at creating a freeze frame effect in After Effects, where the action gets frozen, and then stays frozen until it is out of the shot as the camera pans.

The difference between this one and a lot of other freeze frame tutorials out there is that in this one, the frozen subjects actually go out of shot as the camera pans

Dan notes that because the frozen subject travels off screen, this si a bit tricker than a simple freeze frame effect. Dan uses the After Effects Warp Stabilizer and uses Mocha to track the shot and for rotoscoping work.
